An overview of this alarming virus - named as

Zika virus:

  • Zika virus is spread through mosquito bites.
  • Zika virus outbreaks have occurred in parts of Africa, Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Thus far in the continental United States, Zika virus infections have only been reported in returning travelers.

How might a Zika virus infection be treated?

  • There is no vaccine to prevent Zika virus infections, nor is there a specific medicine to treat Zika.
  • Individuals infected with the Zika virus should get plenty of rest, drink fluids, and take medications such as acetaminophen for pain. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDS) should be avoided until dengue has been ruled out.
  • Taking steps to prevent mosquito bites is the most effective way to protect oneself.
  • People traveling to countries in which Zika virus outbreaks have occurred are encouraged to use insect repellent, wear long sleeves and long pants, and use window and door screens when inside.

These are the 20 "silly" things that you should never do to your baby... Never!!

Babies are the most curious things on earth!!! They have the knack to do anything unusual and unwanted!!! So it's your concern to be cautious....and careful....and never do the following 20 "silly" things to your baby....NEVER!!!!

(1) Don’t let your baby play with balloons or plastic bags -- they could be a choking hazard.
(2) Never put stuffed animals or dolls that hold cassette tapes near your baby when she sleeps because if the tape unwinds it could cause strangulation.
(3) Never let your baby snack on crackers or other bread products all day. These can make her less interested in more nourishing foods and can fill her up.
(4) Never leave your baby with a stranger.
(5) Never put magnets on the refrigerator door because these magnets can break and the small pieces can cause a choking hazard.
(6) Never put off decorating your nursery because you might not have time after the baby arrives.
(7) Never put solid foods, like cereal, in your baby's bottle since it may pose a choking hazard and it also adds unnecessary calories.
(8) Never put clothes that has loose ties or strings on your baby because these could cause strangulation.
(9) Never put too many large toys in the playpen with an older baby who can pull herself up. She might use these to climb out.
(10) Never give your infant any small, hard foods, such as nuts, popcorn or raisins.
(11) Never heat bottles in the microwave because the milk could get too hot and burn your baby.
(12) Never keep loose objects in the back seat of the car when baby is in the car seat. If the car suddenly stops, the objects can fall on your baby.
(13) Never leave a baby alone in a parked car for any reason.
(14) Never leave your newborn baby with a toddler, even if they seem to be getting along. Toddlers may endanger the baby without even knowing it because they are sometimes unpredictable.
(15) Never leave plastic dry cleaner bags near the baby's room because your baby can pull off pieces and choke on them.
(16) Never leave your baby alone, except in a crib.
(17) Never leave your child in the bathtub alone.
I can Do It!!!
(18) Never leave your window screens open.
(19) Never let your baby sleep or nap with a bottle of juice or even milk. This may cause tooth decay.
(20) Never use pressure gates at the top of stairs because your baby could lean against it, push it over and go tumbling.

Kitchen Tips and Tricks!!!!

All these helpful kitchen tips and tricks will help you to save both time and money. Try these as per you needed and reward yourself with some quality time......

1. Peeling Garlic the easy way:
This technique looks like too much fun to pass up! Smash, shake, and separate!

2. Freeze leftover sauce:
You could do this with homemade sauces as well as anything canned that you don’t use up.

3. Peeling Orange in an unique way:
With a few clever cuts of a knife, you can peel an orange and eat it without juice dripping all over your hands.

4. Egg freshness test:
Eggshells are porous, allowing air to slowly get in over time. As more air enters the egg, it gets lighter and lighter, which explains why it will eventually float.

5. Scooping up a broken shell:
Instead of fishing around with your finger to dig them out of your bowl, use one of the egg shell halves to scoop it out!

6. The tips to reheat Pasta:
Leave a small circle empty in the middle of your plate so that the pasta will cook more evenly.

7. Leave ice cream box in a plastic bag:
A plastic freezer bag keeps the cold air from making your ice cream rock hard.

8. A Travel Cup:
Stretch Press’n Seal over any cup to make it a little more kid friendly. Poke a straw through the middle and you’ve got your very own homemade travel cup.

9. Prevent Sliding of Cutting Board:
Use a wet paper towel or damp hand towel under your board to keep it in its place.

10. Cut watermelon in a Smart Way:
This cutting technique to be the easiest and fastest way to get the perfect little bite-size pieces.

11. Make Your Own Yogurt Pops:
Yogurts with a soft top that will allow a popsicle stick to slide in will work just fine.

12. Keep Your Salad Leaves Fresh Longer:
The dry paper towel absorbs moisture from the salad leaves, which is one of the main reasons why it wilts and turns soggy so fast.

13. Cutting Food with Dental Floss!!!
Perfectly even layers of cake or to cut delicate cheese with ease, unscented dental floss can help you.

14. Rolling Citrus Fruit:
If you roll while applying a bit of pressure to your citrus fruits (lemons, limes, oranges, etc.), you will get so much more of that yummy juice.

15. Parchment Paper for Rescuing Food:
Parchment paper will hold up to the heat of the oven and prevent the food from burning.

16. Peeling Ginger with a Spoon:
Ginger's skin isn’t as tough as it looks; The edge of the spoon takes it off with very little effort (even in all of the little crevices and bumps).

17. How to Cut a Bell Pepper Quickly?
Randomly cut chunks off of the pepper, but this method is so much easier, and leaves the core in one piece to be easily removed.

18. Wooden Spoon Trick:
Place a wooden spoon over boiling water to keep it from boiling over.

19. Save the Cake!!!
Place a few pieces of bread on the outer edges to keep it soft and moist!

20. Make Your Old Honey Brand New!!!
You can revive your honey by placing it in a pot of hot water to warm it up. It will stay soft for a long time!

21. Cherry Tomatoes or Grapes Hack!!!
A trick using 2 plastic lids to cut them quickly! Make sure you are using a large, sharp knife.

22. Make Crystal Clear Ice:
The process of boiling filtered water eliminates dissolved air and decompresses minerals in the water.

23. Fish Cooking on Lemon:
Not only does the fish soak up the citrus flavor of the lemons, but it keeps your fish in one piece and makes clean up really easy.

24. Citrus Cubes!!!
A muffin pan gives you much larger cubes, making the ice last much longer. This also looks beautiful with the whole lemon slices in there. You could also do this with oranges; maybe even throw in some mint or sliced strawberries!

25. Fruit and Vegetables Wash:
Purchase a small spray bottle, and then fill it with one cup of water, one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, and one tablespoon of baking soda. Shake gently to mix it together (it will bubble and fizz a bit).

5 Tips for Healthy Skin!!!!

Have too little time for intensive skin care? You can still pamper yourself by acing the fundamentals. Good skin care and healthy lifestyle choices can help delay the natural aging process and prevent various skin problems. Get started with these five plain-speaking tips.

1. Guard yourself from the sun
How to keep your skin healthy!!!!

One of the most important ways to take care of your skin is to protect it from the sun. A lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems — as well as increase the risk of skin cancer.
For the most complete sun protection:
  • Use sunscreen. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15. Apply sunscreen generously, and reapply every two hours — or more often if you're swimming or perspiring.
  • Seek shade. Avoid the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., when the sun's rays are strongest.
  • Wear protective clothing. Cover your skin with tightly woven long-sleeved shirts, long pants and wide-brimmed hats. Also consider laundry additives, which give clothing an additional layer of ultraviolet protection for a certain number of washings, or special sun-protective clothing — which is specifically designed to block ultraviolet rays.

2. Don't smoke

Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow. This depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are important to skin health.
Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — the fibers that give your skin strength and elasticity. In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking — such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke — can contribute to wrinkles.
If you smoke, the best way to protect your skin is to quit. Ask your doctor for tips or treatments to help you stop smoking.

3. Treat your skin gently

Daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin. To keep it gentle:
  • Limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time, and use warm — rather than hot — water.
  • Avoid strong soaps. Strong soaps and detergents can strip oil from your skin. Instead, choose mild cleansers.
  • Shave carefully. To protect and lubricate your skin, apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving. For the closest shave, use a clean, sharp razor. Shave in the direction the hair grows, not against it.
  • Pat dry. After washing or bathing, gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel so that some moisture remains on your skin.
  • Moisturize dry skin. If your skin is dry, use a moisturizer that fits your skin type. For daily use, consider a moisturizer that contains SPF.

4. Eat a healthy diet

A healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. The association between diet and acne isn't clear — but some research suggests that a diet rich in vitamin C and low in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger looking skin.

5. Deal with stress

Unrestrained stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin — and a healthy state of mind — take steps to manage your stress. Set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results might be more dramatic than you expect.

Preparation time: 20 min plus           setting time
